St. Louis, also known as the “Gateway to the West,” is located in eastern Missouri, and has a population of about 350,000. The city has several tourist destinations including theme parks, zoos, and museums, as well as more unique attractions such as the St. Louis Science Center and an assortment of breweries. People visit the city from all over to tour breweries such as the historic Anheuser-Busch Brewery, or Schlafly Bottleworks, where visitors can try up to 50 different styles of beer.
St. Louis is home to several Fortune 500 companies, and the city’s economy is bolstered by a strong manufacturing industry, which had revenues nearing $11 billion in 2007. In addition to manufacturing, the healthcare, technical services, and retail industries also thrive in St. Louis and contribute greatly to the region’s economy.
Prior to 2009, the St. Louis real estate market was largely unstable, with fluctuating prices. Since 2009, however, the market has stabilized and property values have been rising, making it an excellent time to invest in St. Louis real estate.
